What is the Rockford Area Kids Triathlon?
The Rockford Area Kids Triathlon is an event that raises money for Special Olympics. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Special Olympics. The event costs twenty dollars to participate. Competitors should bring their own bike, helmet and/or flotation device (if needed). If you are unable to get access to those, please contact us.
There will be an awards ceremony at roughly 12:30, when all races have finished. The top 3 finishers of each age group (boys and girls) will receive an award. All registrants will receive a t-shirt. All finishers will receive a medal and a certificate. Lifeguards will be on duty.
About Kevin Sweeney
Kevin Sweeney is the founder of Rockford Area Kids triathlon. Kevin works as the Lakeveiw Post Commander with the Michigan State Police. Kevin loves to run, spend time with his family, and serve his community. He also puts on the Marshall Run. Kevin previously organized a race called Bailey's Doggie Dash where competitors ran, and finished, with their loyal companions. After 16 years, the race ended in 2015.
